Job Description

Our Apprentice engineers will be trained in the service and maintenance of high performance fire detection systems. The role involves on site visits liaising with the end user to carry out the routine maintenance of their fire and security systems. (salary will be increased year on year providing apprenticeship criteria is being met).

During the service visit itself you will be working alongside our more experienced maintenance engineers, you will gain exposure to a variety of Life Protection Systems and gain an understanding of the processes required to carry out the routine maintenance. The systems you will work on will vary in type range from small to large complex multi-panel networked systems. Once you have a good understanding of all the service elements and where required, you may also assist our On Demand engineers rectifying faults further developing your knowledge of Life Protection Systems.

What Skills For Security do: 

Deliver the Level 2 / 3 apprenticeship of your choice.
• Completing all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre and gathering any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.
• Complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.

In house training:

In house training; both theory and practical, will be provided at our Loughborough office. This will be further supported with a College qualification.

Desired skills

Potential candidates should possess a minimum of 4 GCSE’s grade ‘C’ or above to include English, Maths, Science and another. Candidates must also be in possession of a full clean UK driving license as the role comes with a company Van in order to get from site to site.
