Job Description

Fisher Security are looking to recruit apprentices to work from the head office in Goole.

As an apprentice you will be learning the skills and knowledge required in order to become a trained Fire & Security Engineer.

We will provide our apprentices with the support needed to complete the qualification, in return we ask for hard work and commitment to the role.  

The candidates will be subject to security screening, police screening & DBS checks due to the nature of the role.

A work-based learning apprenticeship studying the core knowledge and skills requirements under the 'Fire Emergency and Security Systems Technician' Apprenticeship Standard. The duration of the apprenticeship is 36 months and is at Level 3.

The training will comprise; Mandatory knowledge modules comprising Health & Safety, Electrical & Electronic Principles, Practices & Procedures, Core Systems, System Technologies, Environmental Principles, Customer Service, Communication and Commercial Awareness. Mandatory skills elements comprising Working Safely, Core Systems Technologies, Systems Technologies (ICT) and Supervisory.

Optional modules will comprise a choice of one of the following; Fire, Security or Fire and Security. The core knowledge and optional modules will be delivered at SFS Training Centre in Cheshire on a block release basis.

On completion of the requisite gateway components, apprentices will then take a mandatory end point assessment in order to achieve the qualification. This will comprise three components;

1) An extensive multiple choice knowledge test

2) A professional discussion

3) a practical observation

Desired skills

The ideal candidates will have a keen interest in IT, be dependable and responsible with a can-do attitude. Willingness to learn is essential.

Personal qualities

You should have good timekeeping and communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.

GCSE or equivalent
