Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Fire and Security Apprentice Engineer.  You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team and meet tight deadlines.  Initially, you will be working with an experienced engineer to learn how to install, maintain and service a variety of fire and security systems.  The role will involve working at heights.  A full driving license is desirable or you should be working towards.  You will need to have a keen interest in technology and be PC literate.

The ideal candidate will have the confidence to deal with various individuals and groups.  You will be supported to undertake recognised qualifications whilst gaining invaluable on-the-job experience. You will need to be a team player, reliable, adaptable, conscientious, and able to work to instructions.

What SFS do:

Deliver the Level 2 / 3 apprenticeship of your choice.
• Completing all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre and gathering any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.
• Complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.

Manufacturers training
Mentored by experienced/qualified engineers

You will be required to interact with your mentors and carry out the tasks required of you to a high standard.

You will be required to complete all course work, online training and toolbox talks on time and to a good standard.

Due to the Company’s continued success we are looking to expand our Engineering team at our Coleshill Office and have a fantastic opening for an apprentice engineer. You should be positive and enthusiastic with the desire to continually develop your skills and knowledge.

The main duties and responsibilities:

• Assisting an experienced engineer in the installation, maintenance and service of a variety of security systems including public space CCTV, fire alarms, door entry, intruder alarms, PABX, data networking and access control systems
• Have strong customer service skills
• Knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures
• Working at heights
• Obtain or working towards a full driving license
